Peak bodies unite to push for ongoing free interpreting services

CISVic & FCRC released a joint media statement in response to the Federal Governments decision to withdraw free interpreting services for ER services.

CISVic conducted its 44th Annual General Meeting today, Thursday 19th November, 2015.

The event was well attended by members and stakeholders and our Annual Report was presented in a new format - featuring a Annual Report Summary and separate Financial Report.

Communal Disadvantage - the latest Dropping off the Edge Report

The 2015 Dropping off the Edge Report identifies pockets of locational disadvantage and finds that the complex web of entrenched disadvantage are difficult to shift. It calls for a coordinated approach that involves governments, communities, social services and businesses to tackle the problems in a localised and targeted manner.

The 2014 Unfair Budget resulted in cuts to funding for many community based organisations. These cuts will have significant impact on the most vulnerable people in our communities.
